In the end, Silva would be suspended for one year and fined a significant amount of his winnings, a fairly typical consequence for this kind of infraction. But on September 14, 2015, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced that Nick Diaz would receive a five-year suspension from the UFC, along with significant fines.
