How good was Jan Blachowicz actually?! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Check Out How Israel Adesanya Spends His Millions! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’ฐhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ff2fBVa_Ts One of the most unlikely champions in the UFC is no doubt is the current light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Many know Blachowicz is a good fighter, but none would have expected him to be champion. Especially going 2-4 in his first 6 UFC fights and on the brink of being cut. Jan never doubted himself and knew he had the heart and ability of the champion. Even being pegged as the underdog in all of his big fights, Blachowicz overcame the odds and achieved his dream of being the first ever male Polish UFC champion. Before entering the UFC in 2014, Jan Blachowicz made his name on the European MMA scene for 7 years. Dominated the scene and accumulated an impressive record of 17-3. In Europe, Jan primarily fought for the Polish based promotion KSW, where he was the prized fighter in the organization. Before winning the promotion’s light heavyweight title in 2010, Blachowicz won KSW’s light heavyweight tournament 3 times in 2007, 2008, and again in 2010. He missed out competing in the 2009 tournament due to severely tearing his ACL and was forced out of competing for over 17 months. In these tournaments, Jan fought multiple opponents in one night during each tournament. 3 in 2007, 3 again in 2008, and 2 in 2010. When some critics and fans question how good Jan Blachowicz really is they look directly at his early UFC run. Of course he won his debut in dramatic fashion against the ridiculously strong Ilir Latifi, but he would hit the first ever rough patch in his career right after this win. He would lose his next 2 fights against Corey Anderson and Jimi Manuwa that were one sided decisions. Jan would bounce back with a win, but would go on another 2 fight losing streak dropping decisive decisions to title contender Alex Gustafsson and Patrick Cummins. Going 2-4 in his first 6 fights led many to write off Blachowicz as just an okay fighter, but not really a UFC caliber fighter. If he took another loss, Jan was sure to be cut from the promotion, so really had to sit down and make some important decisions about the future of his fighting career. Winning the championship proved just how good Jan Blachowicz is. He battled adversity and worked his way to becoming the light heavyweight champion. The light heavyweight champion again finds himself in the underdog role in his next fight against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. We’ll see if the pride of Poland can once again silence his doubters and defend his title. #MMANews #UFCNews #UFC #MMA #JanBlachowicz #Blachowicz #OctagonNews mma news
